We worked hard upon the Tall Ship Balclutha and earned our Seaman Certificates by demonstrating knowledge worthy of a true sailor: tying ropes & rigging, heaving lines, lowering and raising dories and hausers, cooking for a hungry crew, and any number of other such difficult and marvelous things. The following reveals our thoughts... as we did the lonely, cold, and 'sleepy' Night Watch during the wee hours of the morning. Please excuse misspellings and other literary mistakes... all of the entries happened between 7 bells (11:30pm) and 2 bells (5:00 a.m.).
