The Homework that you see on this page will simply be copied from the homework I send home with the children. The copy will be text only, and probably ugly. I need to keep this as easy as possible. Please excuse the lack of formatting.
Accompanying worksheets, if lost, need to be recopied. Please let me know if you need extra copies.

....ABOUT MATH HOMEWORK....

Because of the way that I "do" Math, math homework is not always predictable. If there is homework, it usually . involves finishing up classroom assignments for that day. Sometimes however, I spend the whole period teaching a concept, and there are either no pages assigned, or the pages need to be done completely at home.

Parents should always check math folders for the classroom assignments (written for each group, along with their assignment for that day). On the Web Page, I will publish the latest pages assigned in class, hopefully, no later than Tuesday of every week.

Also, check for needed corrections on a particular page. Children do not need to correct all problems, but if the student does not understand a concept, and misses several or more in a particular section, it is expected that they go back and correct. Red Apples on a column of answers means that the page is done to my satisfaction.

Please be aware that the length of my teaching sessions (lecture & practice) go for as long as needed each day. We may find there is more -- or less time to do assigned pages in class, meaning more --or less work at home.

If I forgot to send home the "Reporter" with your child, or your child happens to forget (which gets me off the hook), click here for the news part of the paper (sorry, no enclosures).   Reporter Link

MANY, MANY THANKS FOR ALL THE GIFTS OF FLOWERS, COFFEE, CHOCOLATE, NOTES OF APPRECIATION, AND OTHER GIFTS. THE KINDNESS SHOWN ME THOUGHOUT THIS ENTIRE YEAR HAS BEEN AMAZING. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

******************************************************************
I enjoyed seeing you at the Open House. The children were very excited to show you what the year has produced, and I have to say that I too, was excited. I am very, very proud of this class. They have risen above my expectations consistently, and with such enthusiasm. This is a very special class.

Science Olympiad is coming up. If you haven't signed up to help on that day... there's still time. I believe Brian Shanahan has placed a sign-up near the office. It's a fun day.

I am also wondering if I could talk a few of you into "working with/ for me" on Science Olympiad Event Boxes. Most are close to ready, but many still need little things to complete them. Anyway, let me know if your are willing. Thanks!
******************************************************************
Math is being run slightly differently. I will continue to assign pages, as I have in the past, but IF children want to work at a faster pace, I am going to allow it, since most everything in the book has been covered in class, and I feel as though they are very independent at this stage. Go Go GO!
We will be busy most days during math... therefore, Math will be assigned mostly as Homework.

*****************************************************************
We may be nearing the end of the school year, but there's still plenty to be done. We will be very busy, all day long, completing books and projects. I'm looking forward to it, although it is getting hectic.
