The students of Room 9 partner read about 30 minutes each day. This session is to develop reading fluency, comprehension and joy of reading through high interest materials. Other reading skills are learned at different times throughout the day & week.

By November, Partners begin reading 'Chapter Books', and are expected to complete book reports that focus on the different writing skills and strategies used by the authors. Students are encouraged to view the authors as "master writers," and to model their own personal writing after these "masters".
